What are ouvert tights?
“Ouvert” comes from French and means “open”. With crotchless ouvert tights, the crotch is open, while your legs and hips stay covered just like with normal tights.
Which styles are there?
With an open T-band
An open T-band is knitted into the crotch. From the outside, the tights look just like a normal pair. Examples: Glamory Ouvert 20 (sheer, glossy) and Glamory Ouvert 40 (semi-sheer).
Fully open, bottom-free
The whole crotch is open and the bottom area is left free too. Examples: Glamory Ouvert 60 (opaque, microfibre) and Glamory Plaisir Ouvert 20 with a suspender look.
Why ouvert tights are practical
You don't have to pull them down when you go to the loo. That saves time and is kinder to the fabric, because there's less pulling. It's also airier at the crotch, especially on warm days. And of course, ouvert tights add a sensual touch to any outfit.
Do you wear knickers under ouvert tights?
That's up to you. Without knickers, you make full use of the open crotch; with knickers, you wear them like a normal pair of tights.
What matters in plus sizes
The brief section needs to be cut roomy enough, and the waistband mustn't dig in. At Glamory, the edges of the opening are deliberately finished soft so that nothing presses or rubs in the intimate area. All styles come in mid and plus sizes from EU 40 to 62 (M to 4XL). Styling tips
- At the office: opaque at 60 denier, for example Ouvert 60.
- In the evening: fine and glossy with Ouvert 20, or a suspender look with Plaisir Ouvert 20.
- Under skirts and dresses every day: semi-sheer with Ouvert 40.
