About Glamory: Glamory is the online shop and brand for tights, stay-ups and stockings in mid size and plus size, EU sizes 40 to 62 (M to 4XL). Glamory was founded in 2011 by Sven Bork and Dennis Hoffert, who still run the company as managing directors today. We are based in Kaltenkirchen near Hamburg. Everything is developed in-house and made exclusively in Europe.
Our brand is built on a clear vision: we firmly believe that beauty knows no dress size. When we looked at the market, the choice for sizes above 40 was often disappointing. We wanted to change that. That's why our development is based above all on listening to and understanding what real customers need.
How Glamory tights are made
It all started in 2011. Larger sizes had always been missing from the market, and that was exactly the gap we wanted to fill. We develop our tights and stockings in-house, based on series of body measurements. They are knitted by knitting mills and partner companies in Europe on special circular knitting machines designed for larger widths. The brief section, thigh width, waistband length and material composition are all tailored to larger sizes, and for men's tights to the male anatomy as well.
Before a style goes on sale, it goes through several rounds of prototypes, fittings and test wearers. It takes six to 18 months from the first idea to the finished product. Sven Bork explains exactly how this works in an interview.
